Summary text question Edit

I see the summary box, and it normally has data in this field looking like this : - /* English Companies */ for example,

Nope not at all...that is exactly where to put sumary text into.
You just add your reason for edit after the, if any, pre-filled text.
That pre-filled text /* English Companies */ is an internal notation to show wich section of the page you edited.
